Chris (young snatcher) and the grandbairns Wayne and Lewis had come over to the caravan for the weekend so we decided it would be a good time to introduce them to the gentle pursuit of angling. I sorted two lots of gear out for the lads and got some razorfish out of the freezer. As the lads are only 5 and 7 years old I decided on the ramp at East Tarbet as the safest venue. Even though the tide was only 2 hrs off lw I still fancied that they may catch a couple of tiddlers.
We left the women "catching a few rays" by the cars whilst we set up the two rods with sliding floats at the bottom of the ramp. Obviously Chris and I did the casting out for the lads but with a bit of help they were managing to reel in and were quite taken with it. Check out the style on Lewis
And Wayne
After about 20 minutes Lewis had a few dips on his float and I told him to reel in. When he seen the fish on the end the smile was priceless. I explained to him the importance of putting small fish back and I am pleased to say that it went back in no bother. Lewis was so excited about catching his first fish. I am just pleased I was there to see it.
God must have been listening to me because It was Waynes float that bobbed under next. This is the "wee beastie" he pulled out,a fish none the less though. Think it was a blenny?
A heavy shower cut the session short so we ran back to the cars. The lads could barely contain themselves whilst they told their mam how they caught their fish. It looks like we have two more anglers to swell our ranks then !!!!! I do love a happy ending
