  • the Tyne.

Went up this aftey for a few hours with my son and his couple of mates. Same spot as we did on a recent compo near British Airways car park.
    Caught 3 flatties on bluey.
Nice to be out in the sun. Mind there was some debri/logs going up the river.
My line kept getting weed wrapped around it.
was hoping for eels but no luck. Tried frozen peeler and rag as well.

    Mick.

Richie bluey stinks-you can understand why it is such a good bait in the right conditions. I only used one-his two mates are in my freezer ready for my next trip out from Craster on Dougies boat Bon Ami.
Davey saw the wood jetty looks canny-thought some flats looked out onto it.
Mountain bikes were a pain - but the totty out for a lunchtime walks made up for it.
          Mick.

The best bait for plaice/flatties in the river is peeler if you can get some.

If going for flatties Richie, hang a thumbnail-sized scrap of bluey or mackerel on the end of the hook after you've tied on your crab.

                  Cheers, Gary
