  • Should have gone floating...

    Pitched up at the pier in full foul weather gear last night...sea flat as a mill pond and gin clear (surprisingly)

    Saw peeps pulling macky and coalies in as I walked up the pier - great I thought...

    ...well t'was not to be for me last night as virtually ALL fish taken last night were on float fished macky - the fish were obviously about but not in chasing sprats

    After nearly 3 hours of enviously looking on while fish are getting pulled in around me I did hook into something...



    I'd only tail hooked a small lobster

    Oh well "beats a blank" and "at least I caught something" and so on

    I'll be back

    nevermind tony 10 out of 10 for effort but you managed to hook into sommit doesnt look very calm out there atm and looking very wet indeed

      went out meself, never seen so many floats a fished after the bend just after the group of lads using the floats, a used a dexter wedge and had bout 4 mackerel, lost a couple and a few coalies,also lost 1 coalie that looked quite big only stayed for just over an hour canny tho

        did try a mark for 2 hours along souter dropping onto a skeer near top of the tide yesterday with the float and a spot of spinning not a touch



        very quiet and peacful away from the piers

          Aye the weather wasn't grand! I was on Blyth beach (Middle Toilets) last night, not a single bite. At least you caught a lobster mate, I just caught someones rig with a sea float attached and some kelp

            A was on blyth pier on Wednesday night never got a touch!!! But everyone who was spinning was getting mackrel tho lol

              Least you wet aline, i not been shore fishing for 3 weeks and only had 3hrs of boat fishing in the last 2 weeks and this week up until thu at least looks a losser
