Hello lads went to seaton beach today with the chesties on and had a go at some plugging for bass. Nice sea running with plenty of surf but after an hour gave up bassless and went to the heugh to try for mackeral. Got there about 3:30 pm. Dismayed to see the water coloured by the east wind. clear water was about half a mile out.
Had nowt spinning and floating using sprat for bait.Neither did anyone else-mind lads were saying it did well yesterday.Got to 6:30 pm and called it a day.
The plus part of my day was seeing a workmate who is new to fishing. He was casting out daylights and watching his beachcaster in the rest waiting for bites.
Anyway i set him a rig up and gave him a small hook-used some rag a lad gave us and he caught a couple of flatties-he was well pleased.
I,ll be keeping an eye on the wind next time i try for any macky. west is defo best.
    Mick.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
