First ever open comp. Managed 2 sizeable flounders and picked up a rod holdall for me efforts. Chuffed to bump into Jim dobie and his pal on the beach - thanks for the advice. (10 yards is far enough for flatties!)

I'm sure someone will post the results but Bob Gascoigne won with 9 flatties for 8lb something from blyth and a few codling came in from Bog Hall area.

Well done mate, you did a lot better than me - my rod tip didn't move for four hours!! I saw a lot of guys at the middle toilets car park when I drove by at 8.45, just didn't fancy it as it hadn't fished during the week. Ho hum.............................................

wasnt many tht weighted in, from 8lb been the winner the weight dropped from 8 to 3lb within a few 2 secs lol they even raffled the prizes off at the end, well done on getting a prize i did ok with 2 flattys and got that fork

me and me mate fished same area that night till about 10pm all we had was small undersize flattys now im convinced the south end of the beach produces better results
