  • Warkworth beach 22/02

Fished Warkworth last night in our club comp, ended up with 5 flounder to weigh in, biggest just over a pound and a quarter. Total weight 3 lb 8 oz.

Plenty of smaller fish about too.

All the fish were taken at no more than 30-40 yards from the shore, and all on ragworm.

Nice night, and plenty of other anglers on the beach.

Ian caught his flatties only a few yards out from the pier.

well done on your catch by the way, just hope the post doesnt cause the place to become over crowded and over fished lol never fails tht place

All flatties caught by club members are kept alive in buckets. After the weigh-in they're returned to the sea.

What is the best spot to fish from along Warkworth beach - or is the entire length fishable?

                          Thanks

Most of the beach is ok, but the south end beside the pier, the toilets, and Killikrankie are usually the best marks for flatties.

I haven't been back since the middle of March, so I can't say if it's fishing at the minute.
