  • Evening of 6th Feb/Morning of 7th feb The Heugh Hartlepool

Well got there for about 9pmish, went right to the end and saw 2 guys just packing up saying all they could get was whities.

Setup hoping for a bit of sport...then it started. Casted out and within 1 minute the rod tip was flapping about struck into what was a nice 1 1/2lb whiting....each cast after that was a whiting of 1lb or over, got towards mightnight/1am and the whities started to slow down taking the baits and only the smaller ones were having a go however i dont know how any i caught as i stop counting at 26 :/ Also got 3 flatties and every fish was returned except for 3 whities all around 1 1/2lb each.

So all in all a good night for whities but no cod in sight!

Yep, seems like the whities are back with a vengeance! I had similar fun at Blyth, although not quite the numbers you were getting. Sounds like you had a good time!
