Hi all been on a couple of months now but had nowt worth posting

took the new rod out for its first session, wasn't expecting to get much but ended up with three codling between 2 1/2 to 4lb and returned 2 undersize fish.
bait used lug and razor only caught with lug baits, very enjoyable session and love the new rod.

i fished there tuesday night and the weed was terrible!

i only had one chuck and nicked off, wasnt sure if i had a canny fish on. i was pumping the weed in and it started shooting line off the reel and going up towards st marys. Im guessing its was an undertow, but i couldnt do anything with it. I started getting line back using the breakers, then it started taking line off the reel again and snapped my 30lb mainline!!
Im hoping it was just a big old lump of weed, plenty stuck to the line lol

i fished hendon on wednesday morning had two of the biggest lumps of weed ever, though i had monster on my line i was knackered and gutted once i got it in we ended up going along seaham which was weed and (fish) free.

its a nightmare when weed is about.
that spot looked good as it was the only spot on the beach without big waves due to the shelter of st marys, turned out to be plague with weed.

As a general rule a big south-Easterly blows the weed into the north side of the beach towards the boat house. If u go down and theres weed all over the shore with a canny swell coming in, bite the bullet and turn round and go somewhere else. Otherwise its a nightmare

just looked good as it was the only place on the beach without monster waves, although thats probs why it was choker with weed lol
