Arrived at the car park at approx 6pm, chocka block with cars...one place available. got myself kitted up, other cars were arriving all the time, some parking on the double yellows, looked over at the pier from the beach...it was lit up like blackpool illuminations with all the anglers headlights, sea was very big onto the beach..but was rolling north easterly so made for comfortable fishing on the pier, yet for approx 50 or so anglers on the pier, and some of them had been on since early afternoon, I heard of only just the one fish of about a pound and a half , I chucked it about 9.15pm...with not a sniff of a fish...( probably fished its t*ts off as soon as I turned my back ..lol.)

Same everywhere mate. I didn't have a bite either or the lads around me, or my mates and the lads around them! Somebody will have been on them, hopefully. The excuse over the last 2months was there were no seas, well here they are, perfect textbook condtions and still no fish. Was going to go to the pier in the morning but not going to bother now. It should be fishing its tits off!The 'five plums!' Northumberland sea league champions.

Fished the pier myself got there 7.30 and fished till 12.30 not a bite ' sea state was spot on no white water just lovely rollers ' i had to park up on double yellows there was 37 cars parked up ( just counted them out of curiosity) i found a little gap just past the bend and had a couple of chucks into the river while i was waiting for a patch of sea to become available. I only seen 2 fish caught all night 1 of about a pound and one that weighed 5 and a half pound which was caught near the end by a dangler who was fishing a club match but he caught it at 10.40 and his matched finished at 10.30 unlucky pal ' when i left there was about half a dozen danglers refusing to give up but a total pish poor night considering the conditions.

I'd agree if we were sat a mile inland of the estuary...but Blyth Pier is more or less open sea...Ooh a new vid!

i fished the harbour last night and had bites every cast. just small undersized fish.
i would have thourght there would have been some good fish caurght last night from the pier.
i started off at whitley beach and was mobbed with weed, that much that it snapped my 30lb mainline when i was pumping it in!

fresh water wouldnt have been a problem. the tyne is a million times the size of the blyth, there will be a SH*T load of water coming down from alston and the pennines etc. still fish about in the tyne.
the blyth wont have much fresh water from ponteland lol
