Fished Blackhall for the first time last night from low water 7.30 till 11.00. My mate decides to climb to a rocky outcrop to cast a bot further and disappears in a hole with only his head sticking out soaking his mobile that he got 2 days beforehand, probably one of his funniest fall ins (he's had lots). Anyway he climbs out and chucks out and we laugh about it when his rod gets a cracking knock, not learning his lesson he proceeds to run across the rock tops to his rod and falls over again, this time he only collides with his rod stand before managing to connect with fish. He must have had it stuck 3/4 times but eventually got a nice 2lb cod The tides pushing over the rocks now so we decide to move on the beach to the side, alas my gears stuck and after freeing it i get stuck again close in so give me rod a litlle flick and the top 6 inches snaps off.(my mates turn to laugh now). Moved to beach and set up second rod and almost immediately my rod was banging, result a 4lb cod. What a night!
