    Better luck next time mate.As Alan said if you had walked it back along the pier to the beach you would have stood a chance - but in the heat of battle/overexcited !!!! We have all taken the wrong option at some time. I know I have,but it should be a lesson learnt.

    Do not own a drop net myself as do not fish the piers on this coast.If I did I would concider buying one.

    Hope you get a good one on soon.Tight lines

        I have took a drop net last two times fishing and caught nowt decent. Its not a problem to take it i just put it on the trolley with all my other sh--e.

        You can bet the day i leave the net will be the day i get my first in a lifetime doubler.

          A couple of lads I met have made grappling type hooks and use that to hook any decent fish down the side of a pier. helped me out a pickle before.

          unlucky on the fish anyway, know just how you feel. I lost a decent fish on there last year walking it back to shore. got the bugger nearly there when it got stuck in the legs .
