Once again £10 drop net with an added couple of leads tied into the bottom to incease the control of the net when moving the fish into it.

Looks like the wind's going to be strong SSE thurs/fri before coming round SW sat, so might well get myself down tomorrow or fri to drown a few worms. Bad luck on dropping the fish mate - mind you it's only a 400yd walk to the beach!

Bad luck Andy, I've been lucky over the years when fishing Blyth and Roker pier's. Always said I would buy a drop net and then thought, just another item to have to carry with me and never bothered. I walked on to Blyth pier with a couple of lads one night that were carrying a drop net and they said if I needed it just to shout. I caught a good Cod that night on the top hook of my pennel, as the fish was thrashing about, the bottom hook caught on the wooden beams at the bottom and I could'nt shift it. The lad next to me shouted of the two lads and they came down and retrieved my fish for me. After thanking them I swore to myself that I would definately get a drop net. Did I, did I hell lol. I decided again that it was just another unneccessary item to lug around lol, I bet most of us have said the same.

                      Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
