Went straight from work to catch low water. The sea was picking up all the time & there were some amazing surges which made things difficult as the tackle box etc had to be moved well back. Managed a 2 1/2 pound codling right on low water, fish taking a lug & crab bait. Soon as the tide turned the weed showed up & made the fishing impossible.
ps. the fish had a big ulcer on its side, probably the fourth or fifth fish I've seen from Cullercoats with an ulcer. Strange as It's no where near an outfall or anything that could explain it.

Strange about the ulcer John, I had a few fish with them years ago but not seen one in a long time now. Hopefully the weed will all get washed out quickly now as it can be a cracking mark.

    Jim.
