  • Cambois Pier Lighthouse - 11/11/08 - Night Fishing

Was out fishing last night 10.30pm till 10.00am this morning, was with a mate, bait used rag, squid & mac... sea was not choppy just had a nice little roll on, nice breeze too. well we started fishing around 11.30 fished into the channel leadin onto the river & my mate was straight onto a fish (1lb whiten) i was like great! then he brings in another one (1lb whiten) i was feeling the blank at this stage! then AGAIN! he brings in another one bit smaller this time lol (half lb whiten), then 20mins later i hit into a nice whiten (1lb half) was nice not too blank at this point then the wind picked up so we went around the left corner of the Lighthouse fished into cambois side think lol had a few bites but nothing so i moved around the right corner of the Lighthouse fished in the shallow rocks you know what i mean lads? so anyway casted out and bam! my rod goes big bloody bite too, then again it goes again.. so i reeled in with my multiplier was pulling hard fighting a bit then i slowly reeled it up off the 50ft drop off pier! was a CODLING 1lb Half first of the season YEAR! so i was chuffed to bits showed me mate straight away n said got the bugger at last! anyway my mate was blankin all the way through morning after catchin 3 whiten. About 6ish i decided to pop my head round and see how my mate was doing not so well like, so i decided to have a cast near his and 2mins after casting i got another CODLING 2lb Quater was even harder to reel up the pier but i managed it. After that just crab biting nothing else left at 10.00.

Pictures below are just of my codling didn have proper camera phone so cudn take the pics on the pier which wud of been better like but anyway enjoy the 2 pics. thanks all for listen/ had fun! 2008 2codling so far lol

BTW the codling have a funny texture to them but thats because i cleaned them too much that i took of the scales think.

              Excellent....

Bit of a hike to the end of that pier. but was worth it.

Aye, just climb through gates, over gates, down ladders, up ladders, 25mins of walkin & remember your carrying bags and fishing rods which dont help great until your on, be prepared to loose some gear though

Iv'e walked it once... and that was enough.. climbing over the concrete windmill supports and lugging your gear over them is a mission.
Done it in the floaty suit and when i got to the end i had sweated 2 stone lighter..
