Last night Phil and I fished Horden for the 3rd week in a row.

We arrived at 8.30 and chucked out a few lug and squid baits. The first few hours were slow with a couple of bites between us but no fish. The sea was quite big but we could hold bottom and bite detection was good.

Then at about 12.30, just as the tide was starting to flood Phil reeled in a codling of 1.5lb.

About 15 minutes later he reeled in another, this time a 3lber.

My luck wasn't in last night as I blanked. Unfortunately we had to leave at 4am because the sea picked up and we couldn't hold bottom anymore.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for new scales lol?????

I'm not too fussed about the size as they where my first codling from a beach- only ever caught them form piers or rock marks.
