  • My best shift on SSP

Having been on stupid shifts at work I was in two minds to get out , but a bit of sun and the high tide convinced me I should get out for a few hours . I walked down the pier about half one and set up next to the blocks . Thought this would be my best shot as the tide would be pulling hard on the end ,and i could see a bit of colour in the water .
Chucked out my first bait of single lug and settled back to enjoy the sun . 15 mins later had a good couple of nods and lifted in to a nice 2lb cod. Over the moon with this i launched another worm out and within mins i was into a under size codling which swam off to fight another day .
I have heard people use the expression fish a chuck but always taken it lightly ,launched out cast 3 and in ten mins i saw a huge bite , struck it and was met with a heavy angry fighting weight . I had to work hard to get this up to the top and my mate rich lifted it up the wall .A new shore pb for !!!! A 4.5lb cod .
What a day !!!! I carried on fishing till about half 5 and in that time i lost another one on a snag and landed two more . I think i only reeled in to change bait twice .
Going to be a while before i have another day like that , just hope i not peaked for the winter lol

                        Well done, good bag.
Saw you catch 2 of them from the 45 mark.
Looks like I picked the wrong side of the blocks.

                        What bait were you using.
