  • Shields Pier, 11/10

Geordie... and myself fished Shields pier last night, just before the first gate, from around 6:30pm to 10pm.

First or second chuck Geordie... landed a whopping Whiting, must have been all of 7" long.

Nowt more after that until my final throw of the dice resulted in a Lobster! Quite surprised especially considering Geordie... landed on at the walkway a couple of weeks prior to this and on his final cast.

Just as we did with the one on the walkway this Lobster was safely returned to fight another day. Looked a touch under 87mm carapace length.

Although I'm claiming the moral victory as mine had all of it's legs and both claws. Unlike Geordie's paraplegic Lobster which only had 4 legs on one claw!

Thanks for the report mate ....
Kela ,lobsters tend to blow a claw if they're "hanging on" which is a real bummer if it's a canny one and it does it on the way up mate.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

This one was just hanging on. The one Geordie... caught a couple of weeks ago was hooked in the back of it's claw and it's side (on a Pennel rig). There was no noticeable bite on the one last night, but Geordie's gave a stonking bite. Must have been trying to make off with his rod.
