  • Flat rock/ middleton

Tried the flat rock at seaham last night til midnight, loads of bites mainly on the drop and got seven whiting. Lost one decent one in the rocks close in..didn't feel much like climbing down !!
view of the blast beach/noses point on the way to the flat rock

Planned on fishing the south pier early doors but at three this morning it was evil, coming over all over..

Went to middleton pier instead, fished from 4am till 9. No one else about but nice and sheltered. Anyway , got a dozen whiteys and one nice plaice. Used rag, lug, fresh crab and squid. Did manage a PB whiting though so well chuffed. Talk about skinny, Just under two pounds but over 50cm long..RIDICULOUS!!!

That Whitey thinks its a Garfish. Well done on catching it. It is certainly long enough.
PS how do you get to flatrock.

It thinks its a garfish with a mackeral head onit...

Anyway, follow the path along the top of the blast beach to get to flat rock, if you follow it you will come to a bridge. go left across the field and it is a little further on.4_11-45-18jpg.jpg[/IMG]Bit of a trek, as you can see

might go to newton or beadnell, should have a better chance of a lunker up there with these conditions.

A bit mixed, this time i got every cast straight back, last time i was losing gear nearly every chuck. Took this photo a couple of years ago but shows the main rocks to the right
