    Report 1

Well as planned all 7 of us met up for the long and very sweaty walk down to Horden beach. When we arrived the sea looked big but fishable. We set up and I had 4 crack offs in 4 casts. Eventually got 1 out and then Phil (I think) pulled in one of my snap offs. Half an hour later Gregg pulled in another one of my rigs with a small codling attached. Phil then pulled in a nice fresh run codling of 1lb 4oz. There were quite a few crabs caught just after but no fish. As the sandbar flooded the tide became fierce and holding bottom became difficult. I moved south at this point and managed to hold bottom alright. Phil, Gregg, Scott and Simon had enough by this point and decided to call it a night.

    Report 2

After Gregg and Co had left, myself, Chris and Mark stayed to see if the sea would ease. Unfortunately after an hour and a half we decided that enough was enough.

    Report 3

I woke this morning still feeling bitterly disappointed and after an hour of moping about decided to do something about it. I sat and stripped both reels and gave them a real good clean out, packed up my box and grabbed the remainder of last night's bait.
I got to Horden around 9:30 and the sea was still good but nowhere as fierce as when we had left last night.. First chuck was one of the best casts with bait I've done in years Baited up a second rig and just as i dried my hands my rod quivered in the stand. I picked up the rod and felt the line go slack. I wasn't sure if it was a fish or if I had just lost bottom so I struck into it anyway and wound down. I could feel a bit weight and a kick straight away...fish on.
After a good little scrap a bar of silver flapped at my feet in the surf. A BASS!! .........A SIZE BASS!!! I unhooked it and popped it onto the scales, 2lb 1oz. Not a monster but my first size bass from our coastline. Needless to say I was buzzing.
An hour later I had another knock and this produced a small codling at 10oz followed by another around the same size. An hour into the flood I managed a size codling of 1lb 14oz and missed a good bite. That was it fish wise but what a difference a day makes!!!

Ive got some pics on my phone as my camera is still foggy

          Well done Sean.

Hows the bait situation. Did you manage to rescue anything or was it a right off.

          Mick.
