Fished SSP 45 mark on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. What a difference a day can make. Most people were catching Codling around the pound mark or just under on the Friday, I had 2 just on size and a Coalie. Conditions were comfortable, low tide with only a light NE breeze and not many people after Mackerel. Not much tide pull or wind on the 45 mark so never lost a rig.
Went back to the 45 mark on Saturday morning to fish the tide back for a couple of hours and use some left over bait and fishing was hard work A strong westerly was making life difficult and pulling me into snags all the time. Not a single bite for 3 hours and lost 3 rigs.
Moral of the story is don't fish 44 or 45 mark in a strong crosswind

At least you had some fish Friday afternoon mate, I tried to fish the end but with that Northerly it was like casting at a wall lol. I moved to the 44 and never had a bite. The round end was the spot on Saturday with the wind behind.
