Headed to the pier for 11am and met up with Fishingmark and a few other Nesa members who were already down on the 45 and 44 mark. Few fish between them, mark caught a nice little pollock as I was setting up. First chuck and had the butt of my rod lifted clear of the floor with a bite... Wound into it and a nice 42cm (ish, it was a wee but longer than marks measure on the top of the box) codling. Guesstimate about 2lb, maybe a little more. Second decent codling off the 44 in my last two trips. Managed another 5 out but all smaller, one was about sized but put all of them back to grow a bit bigger. All taken on fresh crab. Not a touch on my plaice rod although bestnest (stevo) fishing a few yards from me had two plaice out before I arrived. A few other fish about including one for barnacle bill which was just short of 3lb. Lovely day to be out, back home for a BBQ and beer! The way my codling fishing has gone last two trips roll on the winter!

Still here Marc. Codling still coming in steadily, even on the size 10 hooks.

Too right Andy! 3 keepers in the last 2 trips... That's better than I do in winter! Had a good trip out finished off with an hour on the lawn with the baby, a BBQ and now some more beer! That's why I love the summer!
