  • Tyne/friars goose.

    Took the bairn down for a couple of hours,and he totally hammered me lol,just used peeler with a bit mackerel to tip off,he had 5 and me zero.I had plenty of bites,but they just would`nt hook up.He had 3 nice eels,a cracking blennie,and to cap it off a codling just under a pound,he was over the moon.Lovely weather too,calm and nice and sunny,cheers lads.

          Jordy, is Friars Goose the area just downriver from the Elephant on the Tyne hotel? I spoke to a lad doing his tyres down there 2 weeks ago and he said that they used to get some big eels from there but that the ground is rough. Well done to your young un aswell mate.

            Jamie that was me you were talking to mate lol.Yeah thats exactly the place couple of hours before high water is a good shot.Used to be a few lads who fished shields club i think used to fish there had some huge bags of eels,

                Nice to meet you Jordy, i keep meaning to pop down after work fancy giving it a shot one night after work. Think i'll give the eels a miss though!
