  • St Mary's today

Had a few hours at St Mary's lighthouse today fishing the tide coming up. Fished mainly with the float and light rod but had a go at some micro fishing in the rockpools with my tiny rod and reel and some super small hooks. Loads of critters going for the bait but just couldn't hook them, great fun but quite frustrating with tangles in the light line and no fish.
After that I got back into my comfort zone with some float fishing, loads of small coalies and one good wrasse around the 2lb mark. Nice day to be out with dolphins jumping and an over friendly seal following me around lol.

I'm supposed to be species hunting in this fortnight off work but as soon as a wrasse shows up I just end up chasing them.
              I love wrasse me!

No mate, just went for a wander by myself. Lovely and peaceful, just the seals for company.

Plain old floated ragworm mate, you can see the worm slipped up the line.
