Set out tonight with my light rod, half a dozen frozen crab and some of that freeze dried Ragworm from SeaBait...
Intention was to catch an Eel and/or Flatties so off I went to the Rivers...fished at Blyth Quay first off...
Got nowt here except a load of Lugworm and Ragworm from a fella who's boat trip had also been called off ...if you look in here mate - cheers
The Rain started coming down so I headed back down south to the Tyne...and pulled in at North Shields Fish Quay...
Hadn't fished here since last year at about this time (no dead sheep this time )
Rig was simple tonight - fixed 2oz leger with a flowing trace to a size 1 blue kamasan "crab" hook - bait was crab.
Wasn't long before I was getting knocks, struck into something only for it literally come off at the waters edge so I rebaited and tried again...
This time another definite knock resulted in...
Woo Hoo - first Eel...deep hooked so snipped the snood and threw the slimey critter back.
New rig, fresh bait...10 minutes later...
This one twice the size of the first one duly lobbed back...
Another rig, more bait...10 minutes later...
A nice little flounder about the size of a size 8 trainer
That was it then - no more fish caught.
Totally enjoyed it tonight...a really good example of leaving the house with a specific plan in mind and managing to make it work.
