  • holderness again

with reports of the fishing down at the holderness being great the last few days and wanting some of the action,me and wayne made quick plans to get down that way.
we set off around dinner time yesterday and had a steady drive down with a stop off for our dinner at a lovely boozer somewhere close to hull.
anyway we got to the chosen spot for around 4 ish and decided on a different part of the beach to the last two spots weve fished,as there looked to be a bit more depth here.
there was a bit colour in the water close in but after 100 yards or so it looked very clear, and it was pretty flat compared to the last couple of seshions down there so our hopes were high.
it was just before low water when we got sorted out and we fished it up to high water.things were very slow to begin with untill the tide turned then it was non stop,a bit like the last time we were down there
first fish fell to me,being a schoolie of around two pounds(i didnt weigh any of the bass,a quick photy and they were all returned)

then it was waynes turn,he got a great bite that nearly pulled the rod over the stand, but in his eagerness he fell of his chair

however the fish was still there, somewhere around 3 and a half pounds at a guess,

this continued for a bit with all of the fish being bass to start off with, there were some good size ones and i think only one caught that was less than two pound,i didnt take pics of them all as they probably would have looked all the same but here was a couple of them

it was after about ten fish or so when i got a diferent kind of bite that i was hoping was a smoothy, and i wasnt to be disapointed, with this one being the first of the year for me,

then the next knock was diferent again and i pulled this fella out

not to be outdone wayne got into one of the thornies too

then it was back to a few more bass for us both,it was a bite a cast but as the last time, these hit you pretty quick at times and not all bites are converted, wayne must have missed about 4 slack liners during the sesh,as it started to get dark my hopes of one or two smoothies disapeared with more of these fellas again

a nice sunset on the holderness

i think in total we had around 20 bass between us when wayne hooked into a better fish, this being bigger than my first one, around the 6lb mark

but not to be outdone i hooked into another one very similar in size

and lastly as the top of the tide approached a hooked a better thorny

this has got be one of the best seshions ive ever had,you couldnt take ya eyes off the rods for a second as a few of these fish tried there best to pull the rods in.
so my target weight of fish wasnt quite reached last nite, but im far from complaining and will be back soon wink_1

it seems to have gone quiet down that way lately,i would put the extra miles in and head for the beaches around chapel point now
