Set out for the Luce bay early hours of yesterday morning, got there 3hours before high tide at drummore beach, after a good look at all the different little bays up there we chose terally bay to fish. On my first cast armed with a cocktail of mackerel and Sandeel I struck into a doggie about 3lb and another doggie and pollock soon after that using a 4/0 up and over Pennel rig which done the busy and other 3 lads blanked somehow. So we decided drive to flat rock on the end of the mull.
We arrive there about 30mins later, to see and hear some great news of some great fish been caught an hour before hand including a 60lb tope, a 17lb conger and hundreds of good size doggies, same bloke who had the conger had a 30lb tope the week before from the same spot, we seen the evidence of the fish so it looked promising for us.
Anyhow we climbed down to the mark, getting stuck straight into the fish doggies and wrasse mainly and afew pollock! Kev was nearly got his reward when he was retrieving in a wrasse through the kelp near the surface when a massive conger I mean maybe 40lb plus ambushed the wrasse near the surface for everyone to see. Took everything but the head and bent his hook straight doesn't come much closer then that. Great day all in all we just about lost count on how many fish we got! We left about 8:30pm for the hard climb up the bank with the gear.
Another trip up next Saturday is on the card, there is 2spaces if anyone fancies it. It's ashamed I can't up load all the photos from my phone!
