used to go out on one of the crab boats from burnmouth with burnopfield angling club many years ago had some good fish from there,
the boat owner had married a lass from burnopfield that's how we started to go out with him on a weekend.
some great sport just offshore under the cliffs but a grave yard for tackle

Cheers for the crab Reg and it was nice to meet you. I'm afraid to say I didn't do much better!

Decided to fish golf course at Eyemouth after I left you. Caught the fish in picture on my first chuck and then nothing else on bait. I was spinning at the time, quite a few Coley about. Saw the big rod nod and some line clicked off the reel, thought I was into a Codling but sadly just this ugly fella (Scorpion Fish?)

Thanks again for the bait mate

              Hi Reg,

Not sure of the state of or size of the tide but most of the fish I've caught have been within 30 yards and I've only cast any distance at the bottom of the tide, into the harbour gulley. Were the blokes 500 yards away to the north or south?

Still a lovely place to get nowt.

If you walk to the south, on a big tide, there's a skeer you can't get on but is where the seals all hang out. They whine really loudly in a sort of sad, mewling sort of way - really weird. Davy - we used to get a bag full of crab on the south side when we went up for the Eyemouth festivals, lovely clean, black cock doggers. None there now though.

That's a pity, maybe we can have a wee shore session when we come down?
