Headed over to port carlisle to fish 3 hours up 3 hours down. Nothing at all before the tide started to flood (no bore yesterday due to tiny tide) and the fish came on thick and fast straight away. Most casts either one fish or double shot. Good average size too (best just over 40 cms but loads between 35 -40cms)
The half netters came down the one fisbing just along from me got a nice sea trout in his net about 8lb. Just after that georges rod started going mental then a few splashes in the water where he'd cast too. We both thought "sea trout" but within a couple of minutes a nice mullet lay on the sand just under 2 and a half lb. Knew mullet were there but first ive seen caught. (I'll post the photo later today) top water came and went but the flounders were unrelenting and if anything were even more prolific on the ebb. We left just before 10pm with the fish still coming out virtually every cast. Fished a cople of light spinning rods to maximize sport, 2 hook flappers with fresh crab tipped with macky as bait. Weather was brilliant warm sunny and next to no wind. Fished of the sand the whole time, the water got nowhere near the grassy bank due to the small tide. Great sport on light tackle and nice to see a mullet come out.
