  • first time at silloth

a few of us went silloth to catch a thorny, well got there bit early as got wrong info about tides time ( teach me to check times my self lol)as we got there 2 hours before low water , so ahd a few casts and tide was pulling atrocially hard , so after losing a rig or 2 each we deabated about movin to another venue and after a bit conflab decided wait till the flood, the flood came and so did a a few more anglers , there was not a lot being caught apart from a few small whiti, dabs and flounder , a couple of decent size doggies were pulled in .as we were geting a bit dejected young grant parkin manage the only thorny of the day , to which a new bit of enthusiasm emerged from us but alas it was short lived as the highwater came and the ebb came back with a vengeance we decided to head back home as we not know the area else where, ovreall it was a canny day out though

sorry manage to put wrong pic that was on tyne

Few of us went up and found it tough going. Some of lads fished stepped part of Prom into Groins and got some canny Flounders. Me and my mate fished out of the back of the car on top prom to left of lifeboat station but weather and tide was against us-El blanko on the Thornies or doggies.

Well done to Grant on the Thornback. It was tough going that day, I was fishing next to grant with two rods fishing lug and mackerel and hardly had a touch all day. I saw about three Dogfish and Grant's Thorny caught plus a couple of flatties and that was it.
Ground seemed to be very snaggy there and was giving everyone problems. I thought it would be all sand
