Well I took the advice of Red Rock, Jim et al and fished the Wansbeck/Cambois beach...
Cracking evening...
Hadn't been out in ages so it was as much to stretch the legs as anything and it was also perfect opportunity to try out a new rod...
Firstly, by way of a review on the Shakespeare Salt Flattie rod - don't use grippers...they are a pig to pull out...that said it's a perfectly capable rod; prob best suited to very gentle or even flat conditions with a plain lead. A very slim blank but not too floppy...
Anyways I was fishing with a 2 hook flapper, ragworm and 2-3oz leads...few little knocks then eventually...
Red Rock did promise me a better stamp of flattie LOL...and that's what I got - a stamp sized flattie
Later on also hooked into a small coalie (no pic)
...and that was it in terms of fish caught - stayed for a couple of hours then headed off to S/Sluice for a couple of chucks before heading home
