  • Codling at Friars Goose

    Lad from work fished friars goose area at gateshead,had 3 sizeable codling, biggest 2lb 4oz rest tad under 2lb had few a lot smaller,might have a go myself later today.cheers.

    hi jordy always liked fryers goose but got to be a very small tide bottom a bit funny there but plenty of fish.
    did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

      hi john, yeah your right any tide over a 4m high water and it gets hard to hold bottom 2.Ilike to fish towards the paintworks below the footpath its spot on good depth of water and it aint as snaggy,peaceful too,had some canny bags of codling out from there this year.

          Yeah john they fish the Bill Quay side of the paintworks,the part i fish is the opposite side as u know towards Felling,had some great sessions in summer with flatties and eels too.this part of the river is really deep too cheers.

              No tony it`s a bit further along at the base of the hill,nice and sheltered.I grew up just up the road from here have fished it all my life,love fishing here,cheers.
