  • Shields Big Beach - 29-4-14

    Alright lads'
2 of us fished the big beach at SS down to low and 1hr back we fished the sand banks around 100yds from the pier it was a steady bite a chuck mostly small fish incl coleys, flounders and a nice little brucie bonus with a small Turbot
All fish on lug, rag, mackerel or a mixture of them all
No need to travel right up the coast for your Turbots boys[tiniest ever caught by the way] also got one of those double sided flounders if thats how to describe them like?
Definitley try this again on the next big tides

    Heres a couple of Pics

    Cheers

    Tony

Canny session Tony. Seems like most of the turbot are palm sized at the minute, still a lovely fish to catch.

Nice one Tony, I have had Turbot from the mouth of the river at Sandy Bay although that was tiny as well.

Well done on the turbot mate. I had a palm sized one off Shields big beach last summer on rag. What bait did you get it on?
