Fished a match at Hadston on Sunday and got three flounder to count. Couple undersize and Matty.T had three with a few undersize. Lovely and warm and very little sea on.

Decided to take my liitle lad back on Monday for his first ever session as he's been itching to go. First chuck, me helping him, and after about 15 mins he pulls my gear in in a right tangle but with his first flounder.

He then said "Can we go home after we get one more fish?" Bit of an optimist as he won 1-0

Fished about one hour into the flood, there had been more on Sunday on the ebb and they sea had picked up Monday. A bit cooler and the wind was S-SE.

Next trip for him will be Torremolinos, hope it's good!

Took my 9 year old down to Sunderland on the Rat with a couple of mates and he was bored to tears. It was much better fun for him dodging the waves which could have swept him in. I was scared stiff so we only stuck it for an hour.

Then we tried the resevoir last summer and he was so bored he built a big rock camp. Kept him quiet for a while though.

I took my 11 year old daughter whitey bashing at the Hall beach on 6 occasions and she outfished me on 5 of those LOL. The reason for this was that everytime I was baiting her rod up I got a bite on mine and she picked up my rod, struck, and generally hauled another one in. I tried explaining that that was my fish but I lost the argument. After this I took her a couple of times when we blanked, including the Rat House where she was petrified of the rats, and since then she hasn't been interested. I wonder why. Still I tried.

Beat the boredom by playing noughts & crosses and hangman in the sand, as well as chasing up and down the beach in my waders.
