  • Cod Report

    Hello all,

2008 started pretty poor for me, which was a shame because I had a canny Christmas as I said in my last report.

I had to cover shifts so I was on nighthift for what seemed like all of January and only managed to get out for one session.....and I blanked!

Anyway with the sea coming away on Friday night I managed to get out when there was still some movement, very early on Sunday.

I headed for Whitburn and tried a couple of places along the ranges but a strong S/SE wind made things awkward and with a lot of weed in the water I was thinking about heading back home.

As the tide dropped the weed became less of a problem and I decided to have a few more chucks. I was glad I did because I got my only bite of the session and after getting hung up a couple of times I landed this Cod of 12.5 lbs.

However, as you can see my fly is undone! So here's another photo.

    And on the shore.

Sorry that the photos aren't the best.

    Regards, Ian.
