With a couple of catch reports going up thought I would venture out one more time before putting the kit away for good. Decided to stick with the usual this season and go for Hartlepool with the youngest brother Nath.
Arrived at the Heugh low water, sea looked champion got on the end and fished the right corner.
Couple of flatties and a couple of codling no bigger than .5lbs first few chucks. Tide started to really pull round half water and struggled to hold even changing to a 6oz grip with big squid bait.
Pier started to fill up was 6 on the end and at least another 3 behind the gate from what I could see but nothing doing. A Polish bloke was fishing off the top left but didnt speak English was fishing with the smallest bait I ever seen
I pulled in a crab and Nath pulled in a codling the size of my hand didnt even see it bite
Getting bored decided to fish off the south facing side of the pier half way to the steps me and Nath got snagged up, both snapped and we headed off. Nothing caught on the end and spoke to a bloke on the gate nothin there either, caught a lad coming from bandstand ad he blanked also.
Still a nice day fishin with the little bro and nice n warm - bring on the summer pollock
