Used to fish there ( makes me feel ancient ) 40 years ago, the flat rock had a pillar in front called the name rock or coppers helmet, further south on the beach was a huge sewer outlet that used to pour straight into the sea.

Concrete platform? Do you mean the big flat rock in the middle of the bay that juts out?

You can fish the rocks just down from the gunpit and cast to the same area you would cast too from the flat rock. The added height helps on the retrieve and if you hook a fish as the height keeps you clear of the snags. I only ever drop down onto graham sands when its windy for the extra shelter. Nice little spot though!!

As for the species hunting, there are still another 8 months to go so I wouldn't be too downcast

Can I ask about raw prawn as bait? Not something I have ever tried, is it favoured by certain species

I find it works well for codling and whiting but not so good for other species.

many years ago in my teens I fished the large flat rock next to the old sewer pipe , Frenchman cove
I was told then it was called table rock had a cracking flattie from there.
is this anywear near this graham beach ? as I don't know my way around the area

Yes mate South end of the beach, fished there myself many years ago.
