Hi Matthew and welcome to NESA mate.

I do most of my fishing north of the Tyne and there are loads of marks between Tynemouth and Blyth that are just as easy for you to reach too.

Keep your eyes on the catch reports and you will see where most of the fish come from. There is also a list of places and maps of where to fish down the left hand side of the page under "Fishing Marks" have a look through them too.

There is going to be a group of lads getting together on 5th January for a bit of a friendly comp, meeting at the Rendezvous car park across from the baths on the sea front in Whitley Bay. Why not turn up for that. I will be going if the doctor allows me to and won't mind showing you a few marks. If I am not there one of the other lads won't mind. That is what it has been arranged for.

There is also our North versus South comp which will be in February, you will be made welcome at that one too. Details for the first one are stuck on the top of the "Shore Fishing" forum and details of the North v South will follow next week some time.

        Jim.

Welcome to NESA mate - sound endorsement from the gaffer that

As Jim said it's a perfect opportunity to tap into some keen angling knowledge or even just meet a few new faces

If it's too far to travel we could even arrange another get together south of the water at some point after the North V South...who knows watch this space...

It won't be a problem Andy just take your time and don't try to cast too far until you get the hang of it.

I remember my first time with a multiplier, first half dozen casts were great and then I decided I was good enough to go for it, WRONG lol. My mates multiplier had to go back in his box and he used his spare for the rest of the night . When he got it back out at home there was a family of Robins had made it there home I went back to my fixed spool and listened to him saying "I told you so" for the rest of the night
