Well after spending nearly 3 days locked in a room with the works laptop i decided come what may i would go fishing last night.
Got to Sandsend car park at about 6 and fished 1.5hrs down had 3 whities and 2 rockling - not cod but they were fish and i was getting fresh air.
When the water got too shallow decided to go to whitby west pier only 6 anglers on there including me - they left after half hour leaving me with the pier to myself. Had a dozen whities, 3 dabs, 1 collie and again 2 rocklings (never had one of them before but made up for it).
Although no cod about it was more of a stress buster and by christ it worked. Stood on the end of a pier alone, not a cloud in the sky, a million stars, shooting stars and a few fish to boot - what more can you ask for.
I finished fishing about 11 went for some grub while sitting in the car at the car park with my coffee there was a large crunch and the car moved sideways. Looked over my shoulder and there was a boy racer in his red car against the side of my car with all the idiots inside laughing i got out of the car they all laughed and sped off leaving me a little shaken and a slight bump on the wheel trim - good job it was icy as i wrote the registration on the roof of my car. I rang the bobbies and they were there within 2 minutes, they took details and said they had stopped the same car a few times over the last few weeks and even stopped it last night. Still nobody was hurt (yet).
It is amazing what a few hours fishing can do for your stress levels had the prat crashed into me at 4pm i would have gone balistic and probably chased after him - post fishing it was hey hum no one hurt "heres my details".
Interesting night.
