After a short break I decided on a short session on the end of Roker in the hope of maybe a Ray or Dogfish making an appearance. Met a couple of lads fishing down by the bunker on the way on who said they had seen 4 Rays caught in the last week or two. So a bit of hope.
But the big rod out with a long and low rig and 3/0 alternating Crab and sandeel/bluey on alternate casts but, apart from a few thumps on the tip which never developed, nothing.
Also put a two hook flapper out with size 2s and a bit of bling and had plenty of rattles on rag and bluey. One little tommy managed to hook itself.
Apart from that just a few little small flats caught, but apparently there was a 7lb cod and a Thornback caught Monday night (I was told).
So the predictable quiet session but a nice night to be out and some good craic with the locals.
