  • steely pier today 2/12

Myself , Beachlover (craig) and mick dunn had a trip down to steetly today, It was the first time me and craig had fisehed the mark.

It rained most of the day and the sea was flat but we had a cannt time. We fished from approx 11am til 7am and had a good few fish between us.

I had about 10 whiting including a couple of nice ones, two dabs and a nice codling.

Craig had a good few whiting and a few dabs, Mick also had a good few whiting. I got the codling early on so i was disappointed more didnt show!!

Below is a pic of my best fish, I only wish i could digitally edit my bloody hair, the balding wet hair look is cack!

      Steetly

Apart from the weather it wasn't a bad session, I have attached the pics I took (I think), It was a cracking Codling and even the Whiting were of a good size, sorry Ian I couldn't do anything with your hair either!

      Thanks for an enjoyable day.

Great day out lads. Car safe as houses down by Gus Robinsons. Hope the kids in the house watching the motor enjoy the £2 i gave them for sweets.
I handlined Insanos fish up over the pipe and it felt and looked like a seven pounder. if it had been or was heavier think we would have been in trouble. Its a long way up from the sea back to the pier.
When gutted cod belly full of hard back crab.
House stinks of fish cos i,ve just filleted me half doz whities and her indoors is non to pleased.
        Am i bothered.
Look forward to our next run out. Hopefully nail more cod.

        Mick.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.

              Steetly session

Well done mate sounds like a good session with a nice cod being caught. Wish i had gone there instead of the Heugh yesterday now! The whiting at the moment are of a very good stamp, did you get many large dab aswell? Out of interest did the cod come on worm baits or did it take a smaller bait flattie rig?

the cod was on a large bait of rag/mussell/razor on a 3/0 hook. intended for the bigger fish. most of my whiting were on other rod with smaller baits of mainly mackerel
