  • Tynemouth 24th Nov

Well, finally got a fishing weekend - first since August. Fished Tynemouth beach on Saturday night but cleaned off every cast. Went to Sharpness for low water and got a 2lb poodler and two codling, best about 3.5lb. Got a little codling on the beach on my way back to the car.
Sunday morning the sea had come away a bit so fished the Slatey. Got one at the bottom of the tide, about 6lb. Might, if I buy the right presents, get another chance over Xmas lol.
Sorry, no pictures (and we've already eaten one)

Nice one David, makes the trip even more worthwhile mate.

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Must admit Jim I stood there on both shots without a care in the world. Nice to chill out for a while. Didn't matter about the fish (or the crabs), just being on the rock ends again was a bonus.

Don't know about the touch bit. First cast on the beach I got a right ball (and there's me posting how nothing can go wrong with the scarboro). I knew it was going to happen as I had a load of slack line and I should have walked it off the reel but you know what it's like.........just lob it out and it'll be alright. Anyway I ended up cutting off about 40 yards, only leaving about 60 yards on the reel. Luckily the fish was only 55 yards away lol.
