  • seaham last night

went down to seaham last night went onto the start of the peir, fished from high tide down for three hours, using lug mackerel and squid. every single cast resulted in whiting, must of had about 13 all together. all small apart from two of them which were a pound and a half, had something really heavy on and when i got it right to the side it went slack. i pulled up and found a small whiting on with bite marks right around its tail, loved to known what it was that grabbed it. all in all a very enjoyable night. as its been a couple of years since i have been fishing. will definitely try to get out more this year.
target of 10 codling this season and gonna try for a pig!!!!1

    Cheers Justin

Sounds like it could have been a large fish which grabbed that whiting. Seals usually only bite the bellies out of them

fished the north pier with my dad about three weeks ago and a similar thing happened . my dad thought he had a real whopper on, very heavy but turned out to be a whitey with a large edible crab attached. dont know if this could have been what grabbed hold of yours or not??
nice catch anyway mate, i fished it all saturday night for four whiting, a pouting and a lobster. oh and i got a rod bag with two rods in it blown of the pier and away!!
