as i have more ambition than newcastle united i went out last night with graham sid to try and land a clunka we blew our way down onto the skeer with the driving rain on our backs it looked perfect 2nd cast landed a cod of about 2lb then an hour later another a bit bigger both put back then sid hooked into what seemed a very good fish but with the kelp starting to show it got hooked up and after about ten mins of trying to free it'' it was off fished from 7ish untill 12 still a canny night , jamcod .

Am I right in saying it was low newton by the sea?
Is football hole to the north side of the main skeer more towards the shore?
I've fished there in the summer but never in winter and always fancied the hole in a southeasterly sea.

I know Jarrow viking has had fish up that way in winter but I have never been up in winter but fancy a change. That walk back up the black path is a killer in the heat of summer in chesties! Could do with losing a pound or ten though!
