Well lads went down again today. The sea was very rough and fishing the Heugh was out of the question. Steetly looked fishable but in the conditions hard work.
This is a shot of the Heugh tide on the way in at about about 1pm ish.
Spotted some bird watchers behind a wall near the lighthouse. Must have been expecting some rare birds to be blown in,(wish the fish had).
Took dad out to Seaton and seen this 2 mile bouy washed up. It had snapped its chain moorings and it was huge. Much bigger than me.
Dug some nice ragworm today at the fish sands and first turn of the fork produced a lovely big Kingrag. Got enough for my session and bought some frozen runny from the local tackle shop.
Spent the next 4-5 hours on the pilot pier. Disappointed to not see many fish. One small Tommy cod caught and couple of whities. I totally blanked.
Lost about five-six rigs including wieghts. Felt gutted when i left. I have never lost this many before. The ground was very rocky. Saw one divvy on the heugh we thought the life boat was going out to him. It went straight past him and out to sea.If you examine the photos you will see the guy on his own at the end of the pier. Must have had a death wish. He has a yellow reflective coat on (hard to see him on photo).
He is the yellow dot on the end. Trust me the sea was much worse than the picture looks the lifeboat was bouncing out of the water as it went out.
Put the day in though.
