Met up with KeithB and Fishfinder (Paul) for an evenings angling. Started off at the bottom of the stairs at Tynemouth for the first 40 mins or so until the tide dropped off enough for us to get across to the rocks at Cullercoats - which was our ultimate gameplan
Keith and I had no sooner rolled up when Paul was reeling in a small codling so we set our own lines in the water pretty quickly
It wasn't long before i got a good bite - only to reel in a "good sized" RockLing...at least i hadn't blanked
We soon moved on, set up on the rocks and were casting into Cullercoats Bay
Nowt doing for a while, we moved a couple of times and then Keith reeled in a small codling as well.
A quiet night - in terms of fish - but a good night. Good crack and nice to put another face to a name...good meeting you Paul
It was also a learning curve for me as I'd never "properly" fished the rocks before...so I've learnt I need to increase the breaking strain of the mainline and knock up some decent traces as well as get a better rod and reel....but that'll only come when i get some spare dosh
Cheers - Tony
