  • Whiting on SSP, Saturday 25/01/14

Fished the last 2hrs up tonight at the 44 mark on ssp.

Was hoping for a big cod so used 4/0 pulley pennels with bluey fillets lashed on. No cod there but plenty of whitey about, I got a couple of decent sized ones which both took the whole bait and both 4/0's!

Probably could of switched to a 3 hook rig with small hooks and pulled loads more in, but got sick of the wind so gave up after high tide and went to jara park for a couple of hours. I got nothing there but a mate got a couple of small codling on lug.

When we were at the 44 mark I could see someone went down the steps at the wheel, so I'm guessing someone had a big fish on?

Shame there were no cod for you mate but whiting are canny sport. As for someone going down the steps, nrgjim was there last night so be prepared for a report about a double being caught.
