fished the cliff tops at marsden on new years eve afternoon, to try and give the axe a proper test, and for my last chance to catch a sized codling in 2013. 5 metre high tide at 2.15pm. so fished from 12.15 till 4.15pm. not sure exactley what mark it is, but i think it was on the north end of the second bay
had nothing for the first 3 hours, but only lost 2 weights in snags. was alternating between mussel/lug and cart on 4/0 mantas. nothing on the cart, but got a bite on the mussel and lug just as it started geting a bit darker about half 3. (its hard work cranking a fish up them cliffs, but the axe and slosh did the job).
not sure what weight it is but it was 44cm. not massive but my pb in 6 months of fishing and class way to end 2013, and i'll be fishing off the cliffs a lot more
