  • last fish of 2013 and my pb

fished the cliff tops at marsden on new years eve afternoon, to try and give the axe a proper test, and for my last chance to catch a sized codling in 2013. 5 metre high tide at 2.15pm. so fished from 12.15 till 4.15pm. not sure exactley what mark it is, but i think it was on the north end of the second bay

had nothing for the first 3 hours, but only lost 2 weights in snags. was alternating between mussel/lug and cart on 4/0 mantas. nothing on the cart, but got a bite on the mussel and lug just as it started geting a bit darker about half 3. (its hard work cranking a fish up them cliffs, but the axe and slosh did the job).

not sure what weight it is but it was 44cm. not massive but my pb in 6 months of fishing and class way to end 2013, and i'll be fishing off the cliffs a lot more

    all the best for 2014

Nice one Andy, a great finish to your first six months of fishing. 44cm will be about 2lb. It took me two years before I could catch anything that size. Now you have to try to beat it in 2014

Glad you got a decent one at last Andy. I'll have to try a few more of the cliff marks myself.
