After reading the codling crouch it inspired me to want to give some of the marks a go. So, early last Tuesday me and my 14 year old daughter loaded the trusty berlingo and off we went.
It was a lovely day and we got there in what seemed no time at all. I had intended to fish ramfaulds, but when we got there, my daughter didn't like the look of the walk down the hill a.k.a cliff so plan B was swiftly put into operation and we headed to St Abbs to fish Burnmouth harbour.
After a quick stop at the chippy in St Abbs for a roll and square sausage (heaven!!) we were fishing by 11.30 which was about an hour after low water. To be honest, the sea conditions weren't ideal and it was a bit rough coming into the gully. We were using mussel and frozen peeler cocktails and never had a sniff even though we fished until about 5pm.
Never mind though, it was a gorgeous day and a beautiful spot to fish and we returned home somewhat sunburned Of course all that sunshine makes you dehydrated so i spent in the evening in my local rehydrating and reflecting on a really good day. All that was missing was a fish and it would have been perfect.
