  • shields pier 7/12/13 its a piggy

headed down pier for 5.30pm tried a couple of marks on the way up. Had a canny cod in the 2lb range from the 44 mark then nothing after that so headed for the end, first cast it wasn't in the water 2 minute's when the rod start bouncing up and down thought it was the swell's coming in as it was nothing like a knock had a bit slack line so reeled it in then all hell broke loose.
Felt one almighty thump in my hands up with the rod then the fun started felt like pulling in a bag of cement with them swells but managed to get it to the wall after a bit hard work one of the lads grabbed my line but there was no way he was gonna handball this fish so had to walk round to steps.
The lad went down to get it in it was just lipped by then l was more bothered about the lad who went down to get it with them swells coming round the pier but what a bloke he managed to get it out for me.
What can I say l cant thank him enough still didn't get his name but if he is on here great stuff mate hope I'm there when you pull one in a big thank you.
Well we weighed it on three set of scale's 12lb 10oz im over the moon pb for me it went a bit quiet managed another cod of 2lb and to end the night a nice bass 2lb 8oz all fish caught on frozen crab

Glad to help Jim. Great to see a fish like that coming from the pier. Well done on getting the bass as well, I was well asleep by then, I'd been out for 14 hours!
