    Well done on the Codling. If you dont mind me asking how do you attach the potatoes to the rig ? I have seen you mention that before. I have thought about using plaster board screws or bent wires or something to fix them.

        .possibly just scracht a groove all the way round the potatoe,with say a nail.then tie line inside groove.think thats the way mike may do it.

          Yeah that's it, just run a groove around (I use the tip of my scissors) then the line sits in the groove and doesn't slip out. Gentle lob only - don't blam it out or you will cut the tatey in half!

            How about a length of stiffish wire, the sort of stuff you get inside heavier cabling?

            You could form eyes at both ends, attach the wire to your line by one eye and then shove the wire through the tatey and use another bit of wire through the other eye, to stop the tatey coming off when cast.

            Just a thought and obviously a bit of a faff to make the things.
